What is Nanyang?
'Nanyang' is a Chinese term literally meaning 'Southern Ocean'. It is used by the Chinese to describe the warm land and islands of South East Asia, around the South China Sea.
What is Kopi?
Simply put, 'Kopi' is how the Malays pronounced 'coffee' when it was brought over to the islands by European immigrants c. 18th century. It's now the defacto Malay word for coffee. But 'Nanyang Kopi' is more than just a name. Though young, it has a rich and diverse history. This unique coffee was developed in Singapore. It's the Bean. It's the Roast. It's the Brew. It's a culture all to itself and celebrated in the region. Nanyang Kopi is coffee done the Singapore way.
What is Kaya?
Kaya is coconut jam made from coconut, eggs and sugar. You can order our Kaya butter toast at our stall for a try!
What is a Singapore Traditional Breakfast?
Standard breakfast fare is the Hainanese-Western half-boiled eggs, kaya toast and coffee set. You’re supposed to break your own very runny eggs into a bowl and season them to taste with soya sauce.

How do you order?
By default, a coffee or kopi (say ‘kaw-pee’) comes with condensed milk and sugar at the bottom of the cup. Or you can ask for:
Kopi: Black Coffee with condensed milk
Kopi Peng: Sweet black coffee with condensed milk and ice
Kopi O Siew Dai: Black coffee with less sugar
Kopi-O: Sweet black coffee
Kopi-Kosong: Unsweetened black coffee
Kopi Kosong Peng: Unsweetened black coffee with ice
Kopi-O Peng: Sweet black coffee with ice
Kopi Gah Dai: Black coffee with extra condensed milk
Kopi Po: A weaker coffee with condensed milk
Kopi Gau: Strong coffee with condensed milk
Kopi-C: Coffee with unsweetened evaporated milk (the C is for Carnation); but they’ll still add sugar
